Content Inside:
Mr. Stein, a 62 year old male whose only medical history is that of non-insulin-dependent diabetes, takes great pleasure in providing educational walking tours in the city of New York. He never thought that on the morning of December 19, 2005, that pleasure would be put on hold due to a heart attack. Mr. Stein went to a local community hospital complaining of shortness of breath, dizziness, and chest pain. An EKG revealed ST segment elevations in leads 2, 3, V5 and V6. Cardiac enzymes were elevated with an initial Troponin level of 8.9 ng/ml. Mr. Stein was diagnosed with an inferior posterior lateral wall myocardial infarction and thrombolytic therapy was initiated.
